We are seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Pediatric Anesthesiologist for locum tenens coverage at an ACS Level I trauma center in Dayton, Ohio. This inpatient position provides clinical-only coverage (no phone consults or call) Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, to support FMLA leave from Nov 1, 2026 – Apr 30, 2027 (primary coverage windows: Nov 1, 2026–Feb 28, 2027 and Nov 1, 2026–Apr 30, 2027). Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are provided.
Responsibilities
- Deliver anesthesia care for patients from neonates through adults across a high-volume service (50–60 surgical cases/day).
- Manage a broad case mix: general pediatric and adult surgery, thoracic (excluding open heart), complex orthopedics, neurosurgery, and ventilation management.
- Perform invasive monitoring including arterial line placement and evaluate/manage acute volume and blood pressure issues.
- Supervise CRNAs in a care-team model and independently provide solo coverage as required.
Qualifications
- BC/BE in Pediatric Anesthesiology.
- Active Ohio medical license and DEA registration.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Clean background with no malpractice history.
Facility & Support
- ACS Level I trauma center with dedicated RNs, surgical techs, PCAs, surgeons, proceduralists, and APPs.
- Hospital privileges required.
Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM. Clinical-only locum to cover FMLA leave.
