We’re seeking a Hematology/Oncology physician for locum tenens coverage in Providence, RI. This hospital-based role runs from Sep 28, 2026 to Mar 29, 2027 and includes both clinical shifts and call responsibilities. Typical weekday clinical hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., with on-call coverage from 5:00 p.m.–8:00 a.m. Weekends are required about 1–2 times per month. Travel, airfare, lodging, and car rental are covered; malpractice insurance is provided.
Clinical expectations
- Provide inpatient and outpatient hematology/oncology care.
- Manage an outpatient panel of about 18–22 patients per day and handle variable inpatient consults.
- Perform biopsies as needed.
- Round daily on inpatients (typically 1–2 hours).
Schedules & call
- Weekday clinical shifts: Mon–Fri, 8a–4p.
- Night/on-call: Mon–Fri, 5p–8a.
- Weekend call: approximately 1–2 weekends per month.
Facility & systems
- Hospital setting using Meditech (approximately 20% EMR, 80% paper).
Privileges & compliance
- Hospital privileges are required; temporary privileges are available.
- Licensure & credentials: active RI medical license (or willingness to obtain), DEA, CSR.
- Board certified in Hematology & Oncology required.
