Locum Cardiothoracic Surgery APP (PA or NP) — Steubenville, OH

Locum cardiothoracic surgery APP needed to provide surgical and inpatient coverage for a busy cardiothoracic program in Steubenville, Ohio. Ideal for an experienced surgical APP with cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery background.

Schedule

• Weekdays: 7:00 AM–4:00 PM (day shift) and 4:00 PM–7:00 AM (night call)
• Weekends: 24-hour call (7:00 AM–7:00 AM)
• Nights and weekends included in call responsibilities

Clinical Duties

• Round on hospitalized cardiothoracic surgery patients
• First assist in elective and emergent cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures
• Evaluate and manage preoperative and postoperative patients
• Support outpatient clinic duties
• Participate in night and weekend call coverage
• Collaborate with surgeons, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary team
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR

Required Experience & Procedures

• Minimum 1 year surgical experience
• Experience assisting with:
  • Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)
  • Cardiac surgery
  • Thoracic surgery
  • Vascular surgery

System & Certifications

• EMR: Meditech and eClinicalWorks (eCW)
• Physician Assistant: NCCPA Board Certified (PA-C) OR Nurse Practitioner: National board certified with RNFA/first assist experience preferred
• Active Ohio license required
• Current ACLS certification required
• DEA registration required
