Locum Tenens ABEM-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician — Night Shift, Norwich CT

ABEM-certified Emergency Medicine physician needed for locum tenens overnight coverage in Norwich, CT. Start late December–early January. Shift schedule 11:00 PM–9:00 AM, ~32 hours/week (typical rotation: 3 shifts one week, 4 shifts the next). Compensation: $300/hour.

Key details:

• Nocturnal coverage with 24-hour APP support
• Dual physician coverage 7:00 AM–2:00 AM; single physician 2:00 AM–7:00 AM
• Annual ED volume ~54,000 visits
• Average census ~15 patients per shift
• Position to backfill a retiring physician

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive emergency care across all acuity levels
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and emergent conditions
• Perform standard ED procedures and stabilize patients
• Determine disposition: discharge, admit, transfer, or arrange follow-up
• Collaborate with APPs and multidisciplinary team members
• Maintain accurate, timely medical documentation and provide appropriate consultations

Qualifications:

• ABEM certification (required)
• Completion of Emergency Medicine residency
• Current Connecticut medical license
