Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon — Hospital-Based (Lima, OH; 9/11–9/16; 24‑hr Call)

Join a hospital-based team in Lima, Ohio, providing adult cardiothoracic surgical care with a mix of inpatient rounding and 24-hour call coverage. This locum position runs from 9/11 at 7:00 AM through 9/16 at 7:00 AM and requires consistent coverage beyond the assignment window—expect to provide 10–14 days of call coverage per month, including weekends.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical coverage, including inpatient rounding.
• Respond to surgical consultations and emergencies while on call.
• Perform and manage cardiothoracic surgical procedures and oversee pre- and post-operative care.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth transitions and follow-up for surgical patients.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic.

Work environment & volume

• 24-hour call shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 AM)
• Average of about one case per day
• Hospital is a Level II Trauma Center with 20 operating rooms
• Adult patient population

Requirements

• Board certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Active Ohio medical license
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
