Locum Tenens Family Medicine Physician — Outpatient Primary Care (Franklin, VA; Sept–Dec 2026)

We’re looking for a Locums Family Medicine physician to join an outpatient primary care team in Franklin, Virginia for a predictable, weekday-only assignment—no weekends and no call. This role focuses entirely on outpatient care with a manageable patient volume and plenty of support.

Position highlights

• Coverage dates: September 21, 2026 – December 18, 2026
• Schedule: Monday–Wednesday, 8:00 AM–2:00 PM
• No weekends and no on-call duties
• Patient load: 10–16 patients per day
• Outpatient primary care only (no trauma)
• EMR: Epic

Patient population

• 51% adult
• 48% geriatric
• 1% pediatric

What you’ll do

• Deliver comprehensive outpatient family medicine care
• Evaluate and manage acute and chronic conditions
• Provide preventive care and health maintenance counseling
• Perform routine primary care procedures (e.g., Pap smears, diabetic foot exams)
• Manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests as needed
• Coordinate specialty referrals and follow-up
• Document thoroughly and promptly in Epic

Qualifications

• Board certified in Family Medicine
• Active Virginia medical license required
• Current DEA registration
• BLS and ACLS certification required
