Job Description
Baptist Health is hiring a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support inpatient admissions and patient transfers in Jacksonville, Florida.
This unique position combines clinical hospital medicine responsibilities with patient-care logistics. Working a 9 a.m.–9 p.m. swing shift, the APP will support discharges and overflow admissions at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville while helping coordinate transfers and optimize bed placement through the Patient Care Logistics Center.
This is an on-site position and is not remote.
Position Highlights

- No outpatient clinic responsibilities
- Collaboration with inpatient, nursing, care-coordination, and logistics teams
- Direct impact on hospital capacity, patient access, and care transitions
Responsibilities
- Facilitate discharges before noon
- Queue appropriate discharges for the following day
- Provide overflow admission support
- Respond to rapid clinical and operational needs
- Assist with real-time patient-transfer decisions
- Help optimize bed assignments
- Coordinate patient placement with inpatient and logistics teams
- Support safe, timely, and efficient transitions of care
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- One or more years of experience in Hospital Medicine, Critical Care, or an ICU
- Current Florida APRN or Physician Assistant license
- National certification through AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA
- BLS and ACLS certifications, or ability to obtain
- Valid Florida driver’s license
