Job Description
Provide medical direction and attend to patients in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities in Sulphur, Louisiana, working collaboratively with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care and clinical oversight.
Responsibilities
- Admit, evaluate, manage, and discharge post-acute and long-term care patients.
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight for on-site advanced practice clinicians.
- Coordinate care plans, medications, and transitions with facility staff and families.
- Complete timely documentation and medical record review using company-provided iPad.
- Participate in quality improvement and regulatory compliance activities as required.
Schedule & Clinical Load
- Part-time coverage of local skilled nursing facilities (typically 1–2 days per facility per week).
- No fixed daily start/end times, no overnight shifts, and no on-call responsibilities.
- Typical daily caseload: 18–25 visits.
- Flexible scheduling that supports work–life balance.
- New graduates who are board-eligible and actively pursuing licensure are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
- MD or DO with active, unrestricted U.S. medical license or eligibility for licensure.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, PM&R, or Emergency Medicine.
- Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and leadership skills.
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
