Part-Time Medical Director / Attending Physician – Skilled Nursing (Hospitalist)

Seeking a part-time Medical Director/Attending Physician to provide clinical leadership and attend on-site to post-acute and long-term care patients at skilled nursing facilities in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas. The physician will collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care and oversee clinical operations at assigned facilities.

Locations

• Primary: Cottonwood Falls, KS (local coverage)
• Current facility opportunities in Kansas: Hutchinson, Parsons, Sedan, Wilson, McPherson
• Additional nationwide openings: GA, IL, IN, LA, MA, MI, MO, NC, OH, TN, WI

Schedule & Workload

• Part-time: physicians typically cover each facility 1–2 days per week
• No fixed daily start/end times, no call, no overnight shifts
• Average 18–25 patient visits per day
• Flexible scheduling to support work-life balance
• Company-provided iPad with LTE for documentation

Key Responsibilities

• Provide attending physician services and medical direction in skilled nursing facilities
• Partner with NPs/PAs to manage patient care, transitions, and treatment plans
• Offer clinical oversight, leadership, and quality-focused care
• Communicate effectively with facility staff, families, and ancillary providers
• Maintain timely and accurate medical documentation

Qualifications

• MD or DO with active, unrestricted U.S. medical license or eligibility for licensure
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, PM&R, or Emergency Medicine
• Strong clinical decision-making, leadership, and communication skills
• Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care
