Locum Tenens Urologist – Outpatient/Inpatient/Surgical (Fargo, ND)

A respected healthcare facility in Fargo, North Dakota seeks a Locums Urology Physician to provide outpatient, inpatient, and surgical urology services. Full-time, weekday position with no call, weekends, or federal holiday responsibilities.

Schedule and Setting

• Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
• 80 hours per pay period
• Practice includes outpatient clinic, inpatient rounding, and operating room
• No call, no weekends, no federal holiday coverage

Clinical Responsibilities (≈90% direct patient care)

• Evaluate and treat patients in outpatient clinic
• Perform inpatient consultations and daily hospital rounds
• Coordinate specialty referrals and follow-up care; deliver discharge education
• Perform diagnostic and surgical urologic procedures across general urology
• Complete specialty examinations related to urologic conditions (including Compensation & Pension and Agent Orange evaluations when applicable)
• Adhere to medication and documentation policies

Procedures Expected

• Cystoscopy, ureteroscopy, transurethral procedures (prostate disease, bladder cancer)
• Vasectomy, scrotal surgeries, incision and drainage of prostatic abscesses
• Endoscopic urologic procedures
• Surgeries involving kidney, bladder, ureter, urethra, prostate, penis, scrotum, and testes
• Major abdominal and lymphatic procedures related to urology

Equipment and Additional Skills

• Experience with holmium laser, extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL), and fluoroscopy
• Robotic surgery certification preferred but not required

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Completion of ACGME‑accredited Urology residency (minimum three years in urologic surgery)
• Board Certified in Urology
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience
• Active North Dakota medical license
• Current DEA registration and NPI
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Annual Office of Inspector General (OIG) statement required
