The Department of Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh seek an outstanding academic pediatric neuroradiologist to serve as Director of Pediatric Neuroradiology. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead and further develop a nationally recognized pediatric neuroradiology service within one of the premier children’s hospitals in the United States.
Key Highlights:
- The Director will provide strategic, clinical, educational, and research leadership for the subspecialized Section of Pediatric Neuroradiology within the division of Pediatric Radiology.
- Leadership responsibilities include direct oversight of all clinical operations of the pediatric neuroradiology section, faculty and trainee mentorship, driving quality improvement, patient safety initiatives and operational efficiency and create strategic initiatives to enhance national visibility.
- They will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including neurology, neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, and developmental pediatrics.
- The Director is expected to optimize advanced imaging techniques, including functional MRI, diffusion imaging, fetal MRI, quantitative neuroimaging and AI in neuroimaging.
- Academically, the Director is expected to maintain a strong record of scholarly activity and publications, collaborate with basic scientists in the Pediatric Imaging Research Center (PIRC) and the Department of Radiology, as well as clinical collaborators in the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and work alongside the Pediatric Neuroradiology fellowship director to expand the fellowship training program.
- Grant funding is a plus but not required.
- The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing excellence in clinical care, fostering innovation in neuroimaging, and supporting the academic mission of the department and institution.
Qualifications:
- MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree
- Board certification in Radiology and completion of fellowship training or subspecialty certification (or eligibility) in Neuroradiology or Pediatric Radiology with expertise in expertise in pediatric imaging
- Academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor (or eligibility for appointment at those levels)
- Leadership experience and a track record of clinical excellence, scholarship, and teaching
