Job Description

We are looking for a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon to establish and grow an elective orthopedic and total joints practice in Williamson County, Illinois. This role offers the chance to build a high-volume elective practice on a solid foundation—supported by an established health system, collaborative orthopedics colleagues, and dedicated APP assistance.

What you’ll build and enjoy

  • Lead an elective orthopedic practice focused primarily on total joints and adult reconstruction.
  • Dedicated OR block time available Monday–Friday to support predictable scheduling.
  • Dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) support to help manage clinic and perioperative care.
  • A hospitalist team handles most inpatient admissions, minimizing administrative burdens.
  • Strong administrative and clinical infrastructure to support growth and operational efficiency.
  • Limited acute orthopedic and fracture coverage required; complex trauma cases are transferred to in-system orthopedic traumatology specialists.
  • Real opportunity to shape and expand a new orthopedic service line and grow referral networks.

Compensation & benefits

  • Competitive base salary of $500,000.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • CME allowance and paid onboarding/credentialing.
  • Full malpractice insurance with tail coverage.
  • Predictable schedule designed to support an excellent work–life balance.

Minimum requirements

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
  • Eligibility for Illinois medical licensure and hospital privileges.
  • Interest in building and growing an elective orthopedic surgery practice.
  • Comfortable managing a limited amount of acute orthopedic and fracture care.

Preferred qualifications

  • Fellowship training in Adult Reconstruction / Total Joint Replacement.
  • Experience developing referral networks and growing elective surgical volume.
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered, high-quality orthopedic care.

If you’re excited to shape a growing service line and enjoy working within a supportive team and system, this is a great opportunity to build a rewarding total joints practice in southern Illinois.
