Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery PA or NP — 24-Hour Call, First Assist (Lincoln, NE)

Locums opportunity for an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide 24-hour on-call coverage in Lincoln, Nebraska. Candidate must have strong cardiothoracic surgery experience, including first-assist skills and vein harvesting (endoscopic and/or open).

• Coverage: 24-hour on-call (overnight phone consultations and emergent operative cases)

Core responsibilities

• First assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures.
• Perform endoscopic and/or open vein harvesting.
• Manage perioperative care of cardiothoracic surgery patients (preop, intraop, postop).
• Respond to overnight phone consults and emergent operative cases as part of 24-hour call.
• Collaborate with the cardiothoracic surgery team on evaluations and care plans.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation in Epic.

Required qualifications

• Board-certified PA or NP.
• Active Nebraska PA or NP license.
• Extensive cardiothoracic surgery experience with demonstrated first-assist proficiency.
• Experience performing endoscopic and/or open vein harvesting.

Preferred

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
