Radiation Therapist
Join a collaborative Radiation Oncology team at a large university health system in San Francisco. We’re looking for a skilled Radiation Therapist to help deliver high-quality radiotherapy and hyperthermia treatments across our multi-campus department.
What you’ll do
- Prepare and position patients for a range of radiotherapy and hyperthermia procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Carry out prescribed treatment plans using appropriate equipment, document treatments accurately, and communicate findings to the care team.
- Apply independent judgment for set-up and treatment decisions while following established protocols and physician directions.
- Participate in department quality improvement initiatives and follow Medical Center safety policies, HIPAA rules, Joint Commission standards, AIDET communication practices, and House and Telephone Standards.
- Be available to work at other campuses as needed, in accordance with Union scheduling guidelines.
What we’re looking for
- Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy program.
- Minimum of 2 years’ clinical experience.
- California therapeutic radiology licensure and ARRT (Therapeutic Radiography) certification.
- Hands-on experience with megavoltage, supervoltage, and orthovoltage equipment.
- Familiarity with simulation procedures and techniques such as IORT, radioactive implants, HDR brachytherapy, and hyperthermia.
- Ability to act independently and exercise sound clinical judgment.
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary staff.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude.
Compensation and benefits
- Base salary: USD $170,234 to $212,099 (full-time)
