Director of Medical Services — PMHNP (Remote, VA/MD/NJ/PA)

Overview
Provide strategic, administrative, and clinical leadership for a remote behavioral health medical team, reporting to the VP of Medical Services. Oversee psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and other medical staff to ensure evidence-based care, regulatory compliance, and consistent high-quality patient outcomes across MD, NJ, PA, and VA.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage medical services delivery across the organization’s behavioral health programs.
• Establish and promote evidence-based clinical practices and standards of care.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate psychiatrists, psychiatric NPs, and other medical staff.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to develop clinical strategy, policies, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support workforce development, clinical training, and ongoing professional development.
• Monitor clinical performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Participate in hiring, credentialing, and privileging processes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program.
• PMHNP-BC certification.
• Active PMHNP/APRN license in Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Virginia, with willingness/ability to obtain additional state licenses.
• Minimum 3 years post-licensure PMHNP clinical experience, including pediatric or adolescent mental health.
• Minimum 3 years administrative or leadership experience in behavioral health.
• Solid knowledge of pediatric psychiatry and evidence-based behavioral health practices.
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards for behavioral health services.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, growing remote organization.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $140,000–$160,000, commensurate with experience, licensure, and location.
