Locums Emergency Medicine Physician Flexible 412 Shifts/Month in Council Bluffs, IA (Epic)

Location: Council Bluffs, Iowa

Schedule

• 4–12 shifts per month
• Shift length: 8 hours
• Available shifts:
  • 6:30 AM–2:30 PM
  • 1:30 PM–10:30 PM
  • 9:30 PM–6:30 AM

Clinical Setting

• Busy emergency department
• Annual ED volume: ~22,000 patients
• EMR: Epic; dictation: Dragon
• No scribes
• Locums physicians: limited trauma responsibilities

Patient Mix & Disposition

• Discharge: ~77%
• Admission: ~14%
• Left before treatment complete: ~4%
• Observation: ~2.8%
• Transfer: ~2.5%

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care across a range of acuity
• Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and disposition patients
• Respond to codes and emergent situations
• Perform appropriate ED procedures and interventions
• Collaborate with nursing, consultants, and other care team members
• Complete accurate, timely documentation in Epic using Dragon

Requirements

• Active Iowa medical license
• Active DEA registration
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, ATLS certifications
• Emergency Medicine experience required
