This role sits within a high-volume academic environment that supports teaching, research, and hands-on patient care across a busy Surgical ICU and operating suite.
What you’ll be doing
- Provide high-acuity operative and critical care for trauma and acute care surgery patients.
- Share comprehensive Surgical ICU responsibilities alongside multidisciplinary teams.
- Collaborate with trauma, critical care, and advanced practice provider colleagues to deliver coordinated care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and opportunities to contribute to program development.

Teaching and academic expectations

Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an accredited general surgery residency.
- Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in General Surgery.
- Eligible for California medical licensure.
Preferred but not required
- Fellowship training in trauma surgery and/or surgical critical care.
- Experience with or strong interest in resident and fellow education.
- Engagement in trauma quality improvement, research, or academic initiatives.
