Locum Hospitalist (Inpatient) — Rochester, NH (100-bed; Ongoing Locum Opportunity)

Join a collaborative hospital team in Rochester, New Hampshire, delivering comprehensive inpatient care to an underserved adult population. This ongoing locum tenens role offers a stable, on-site hospital practice where you can focus on patient care without after-shift call expectations.

What you’ll be working in

• Hospital-based inpatient practice at a 100-bed facility
• Typical daily census: 14–24 patients
• Admissions: about 4–5 per day
• Consults: about 4–6 per day, mainly for behavioral health and rehabilitation services
• No trauma designation
• On-site coverage with no expectation of being called back once your shift ends

Key responsibilities

• Provide full-spectrum hospital medicine care for adult inpatients
• Evaluate and manage both acute and chronic conditions, and perform daily rounds
• Admit and stabilize new patients while coordinating ongoing inpatient care
• Address clinical needs during assigned shifts and arrange consultations with behavioral health, rehab, and other services as needed
• Work closely with nursing, specialists, and the multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans
• Lead discharge planning and transitions of care to ensure safe handoffs
• Maintain timely, accurate medical documentation

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Active New Hampshire medical license and current DEA registration
• BLS certification
