Locums Emergency Medicine Physician — Level II Trauma Center, Orlando FL

Location: Orlando, Florida — coverage in a busy community emergency department affiliated with a Level II Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and STEMI/Heart Center.

• Patients requiring admission transferred to main campus with coordinated handoff to intensivists, hospitalists, and specialists

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, stabilize, and treat patients with emergent and urgent conditions across adult, pediatric, medical, and trauma presentations
• Perform emergency procedures within scope of practice
• Manage critically ill and injured patients until transfer or disposition
• Coordinate care and transitions with consultants and inpatient teams
• Maintain accurate, timely electronic medical record documentation
• Provide evidence-based, high-quality care in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM) preferred
• Candidates Board Certified in Family Medicine considered if they have a minimum of 4 years’ Emergency Medicine experience and/or completion of an Emergency Medicine fellowship
• Current ATLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain
• DEA registration required
