Locums Family Medicine Physician

We are seeking a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician for a locum tenens opportunity with a growing, team-based primary care practice in Tacoma, Washington. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who values preventive medicine, relationship-based care, and whole-person patient management.

Compensation: $100 Per Hour plus travel

Position Highlights

• 10–15 patients per day
• Extended appointment times of approximately 20–60 minutes
• Collaborative, team-based care model
• Dedicated clinical support team, including health coaches
• Focus on preventive and value-based care
• No inpatient responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient family medicine care.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Provide preventive care, screenings, and health maintenance.
• Develop individualized treatment plans focused on whole-person care.
• Manage chronic conditions and coordinate specialty referrals when appropriate.
• Educate patients on wellness, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices.
• Work collaboratively with health coaches and other members of the care team.
• Complete accurate and timely electronic medical documentation.
• Apply appropriate medical coding and documentation practices, including Medicare Advantage and HCC coding

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency
• Board Certified through ABFM, ABIM, or AOA
• Minimum 3 years of primary care experience
• Current, unrestricted Washington medical license or ability to obtain
• Current DEA registration
• Experience working in a team-based primary care environment
• EMR experience preferred
