Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician — Inverness, FL

We’re looking for a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine physician to join a locum tenens role in Inverness, Florida. You’ll work in a recently renovated emergency department that’s modern, efficient, and focused on high-acuity adult care.

The ED sees about 45,000 visits a year and is staffed to provide strong coverage: physicians cover roughly 36 hours per day with APPs providing an additional 40 hours daily. The patient mix is mainly adult and geriatric, with low pediatric volume (~6%). This is a non-trauma, non-OB/GYN environment using Cerner as the EMR. The department has 28 private rooms, including bariatric-capable rooms.

Requirements:

• Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM)
• Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain one
• DEA license
• Experience in high-volume EDs is preferred
• Comfort managing a wide range of emergency presentations in a non-trauma setting
