Locums Emergency Medicine Physician — Sebring, FL (Community Hospital ED)

Join a busy, community Emergency Department in Sebring, Florida, providing high‑quality, patient‑centered emergency care with a balanced schedule and strong APP support.

Assignment details:

• Facility: Community hospital Emergency Department
• Annual volume: ~18,000 visits
• ED size: 13 beds
• Coverage model: Single-physician shifts (7a–7p, 7p–7a)
• APP coverage: 8 hours/day (off season), 10 hours/day (peak season)
• Admission rate: ~15%
• Dedicated senior ER for geriatric patients
• EMR: MEDHOST
• Duration: Ongoing locum coverage

Key responsibilities:

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad range of emergency conditions
• Provide leadership and supervision for APPs and ED staff during shifts
• Stabilize critically ill and injured patients and coordinate admissions or transfers
• Collaborate with nursing and hospitalist teams to optimize patient flow and care quality
• Document patient encounters accurately in MEDHOST

Requirements:

• Board certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)
• Active Florida medical license, or ability to obtain one before start
• Current ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications
• Preferably 2+ years of recent ED experience
