Job Description

Full-time leadership role for a Board-Certified (or eligible) Radiologist with fellowship training in Breast Imaging to serve as Chairperson of Mammography at a healthcare organization in Brooklyn, NY. This position combines clinical practice and administrative oversight to develop and expand a comprehensive breast imaging program and deliver high-quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide clinical breast imaging services: screening and diagnostic mammography, tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and image-guided breast procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with MQSA and all federal/state regulations for mammography.
  • Lead and develop the breast imaging service line: program growth, quality improvement, protocol development, and performance metrics.
  • Supervise and mentor radiology staff and trainees; promote continuing education and best practices.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (breast surgery, oncology, pathology, primary care) to optimize patient care pathways.
  • Participate in scheduling, coverage, and on-call responsibilities as required.

Required qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency.
  • Fellowship training in Breast Imaging or Women’s Imaging.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Diagnostic Radiology (American Board of Radiology).
  • Current New York medical license, or eligibility to obtain one prior to start.
  • MQSA-qualified physician meeting all Mammography Quality Standards Act requirements.
  • Demonstrated expertise in mammography, tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and image-guided procedures.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and collaborative skills.
  • Prior leadership experience (Section Chief, Medical Director, Chairperson, or similar) preferred.
  • Commitment to quality improvement, patient-centered care, and physician education.
