A leading Richmond, Virginia healthcare facility seeks a fellowship-trained cardiac anesthesiologist for a short-term locum assignment the week of December 21, 2026. This role offers focused cardiac call coverage with weekday OR shifts and no overnight OR call.

Assignment details

• Dates: Week of December 21, 2026
• OR schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
• Cardiac call: 7:00 AM December 24 through 7:00 AM December 28, 2026
• Holiday call rates apply for December 24–25
• No overnight OR call

Clinical responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia for cardiac surgical procedures and manage perioperative care for complex cardiac patients
• Participate in scheduled cardiac call coverage
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia colleagues, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality care in a tertiary setting

Qualifications

• Cardiac fellowship preferred; non-fellowship candidates considered with documented cardiac case logs and attestation of cardiac procedure experience
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology (certification must be obtained within 5 years of residency completion)
• Active Virginia medical license or eligibility for the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
• Current BLS required; ACLS required if requesting conscious sedation privileges
• Flu and COVID-19 vaccinations required (medical or religious exemptions considered)
