Emergency Medicine Physician (Independent Contractor) — North Augusta / Aiken, SC

Join a team of 16 emergency medicine physicians and 9 advanced practice providers delivering emergency care in North Augusta, SC and at a nearby freestanding ED in North Augusta, GA.

Clinical responsibilities

• Provide emergency care at Medical Center (273-bed community hospital; 30-bed ED; chest pain and stroke center).
  • Annual ED volume: 43,000 visits.
  • Coverage: 39 physician hours/day; 30 APP hours/day.
• Provide emergency care at The ER at Sweetwater (10-bed freestanding ED, North Augusta, GA).
  • Annual volume: 23,000 visits.
  • Coverage: 24 physician hours/day; 12 APP hours/day.
• Participate in hospital committees (credentials, sepsis, peer review, medical executive).
• Collaborate with consultants and specialists; engage in teaching APP students and internal/family medicine residents.
• Manage all aspects of community emergency medicine in collaboration with colleagues and administration.

Schedule, employment status, and compensation

• Independent contractor, flexible schedule.
• Minimum commitment: full-time, 120 hours/month.
• Pay: $300/hour (day shifts), $325/hour (night shifts).
• $75,000 sign-on bonus available with full-time shift commitment.

Requirements

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine, or Family Medicine with emergency medicine experience.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Location

• Primary practice in North Augusta, South Carolina, with shifts at The ER at Sweetwater in North Augusta, Georgia.
