Locum Tenens Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon — Mesa, AZ

Join a physician-led team in Mesa, AZ, providing orthopedic trauma coverage at a high-acuity, hospital-based trauma center. You’ll be supported by strong clinical infrastructure so you can focus on delivering excellent patient care alongside an experienced orthopedic trauma colleague in a collaborative, well-resourced environment.

What the assignment looks like

• 24-hour shifts, roughly 183 shifts per year (flexible scheduling available)
• Blocked scheduling with 7-day stretches and built-in recovery time between rotations
• A balanced mix of OR time, inpatient management, and follow-up clinic
• Work with another Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon within a dedicated orthopedic trauma and acute care surgery coverage model

Clinical responsibilities

• Manage operative and non-operative care for orthopedic trauma patients
• Provide trauma call coverage at a busy, high-volume center
• Treat complex fractures, including pelvic and acetabular injuries
• Collaborate closely with trauma surgery, ICU, and emergency medicine teams
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation while balancing surgical, inpatient, and outpatient responsibilities

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Completion of an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship
• Experience in high-acuity trauma care required; pelvic and acetabular fracture expertise preferred
• Active Arizona medical license or willingness to obtain one
