Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician — Stuart, FL (Ongoing through 6/30/2027)

We’re looking for a Locum Emergency Medicine physician to provide ongoing coverage in Stuart, Florida. This role offers the chance to work in a well-supported hospital ED with a low admission rate, manageable patient volume, and flexible day and night shift options.

Assignment details

• Length: Ongoing through June 30, 2027
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts
• Shift availability: Days and nights (AM/PM)
• Setting: Hospital Emergency Department
• Coverage model: Single-physician coverage

About the ED

• 10–11 beds
• Patient volume: roughly 0.5–2 patients per hour
• Mix of adults and pediatric patients
• Mostly ESI level 3–4 cases, with occasional level 2 patients
• Low admission rate: about 2–3%

What you’ll do

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries
• Stabilize and manage both adult and pediatric emergencies
• Perform emergency procedures appropriate to EM practice
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, and other diagnostics
• Work closely with nurses, radiology, consultants, and ancillary services to deliver efficient, high-quality care
• Complete timely, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record

Qualifications

• Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)
• Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain one
• Current DEA registration
