Locums Emergency Medicine Physician — 12-hr Shifts, 24/7 Coverage in Coastal Englewood, FL

A healthcare facility in Englewood, FL, is seeking a flexible, experienced Emergency Medicine physician for a locum tenens role. The position requires coverage of day, night, and weekend 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced, patient-centered Emergency Department.

The ED manages approximately 20,000 visits annually and maintains 24-hour physician coverage. Support services include on-demand phlebotomy for surges, sepsis/stroke alerts, and complex cases, plus advanced imaging (MRI, CT, X-ray, and ultrasound) and laboratory resources to guide diagnosis and treatment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide timely, high-quality evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with acute medical needs.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective patient care.
• Use imaging and laboratory data to inform clinical decisions.
• Complete accurate, timely documentation in accordance with facility protocols and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Board certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM), or Family Practice/Internal Medicine with a minimum of two years’ recent Emergency Medicine experience.
• Active Florida medical license and DEA registration.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• ACLS and PALS certification strongly preferred.
