Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician — Port Charlotte, FL

Join a friendly, fast-paced emergency team in Port Charlotte, FL, as a locum tenens Emergency Medicine Physician. You’ll step into busy emergency departments and provide high-quality, compassionate care for patients with a wide variety of acute medical needs. This role offers schedule flexibility and the chance to work across different emergency settings while making an immediate impact on patient care.

What you’ll do:

• Evaluate and stabilize patients presenting with urgent and emergent conditions.
• Perform thorough histories and physical exams, interpret diagnostic tests, and develop timely treatment plans.
• Provide medication management, perform minor procedures when needed, and coordinate care with consultants and admitting teams.
• Document encounters clearly and communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff to ensure smooth handoffs and continuity of care.

What we’re looking for:

• Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM).
• Active Florida medical license.
• Current ACLS and PALS certifications.
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
