Locums Neonatal Nurse Practitioner — Level III NICU in Lansing, MI (Day/Night Shifts, Epic)

Join a collaborative team in Lansing, Michigan caring for critically ill and premature newborns in a busy Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit within a Level I Trauma Center. You’ll work alongside experienced neonatologists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other specialists to provide high-acuity inpatient care in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide comprehensive neonatal care for critically ill and premature newborns in a Level III NICU
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage NICU patients, responding quickly to changes in condition and initiating appropriate interventions
• Participate in daily rounds and multidisciplinary care planning
• Manage admissions, consultations, and discharges
• Collaborate closely with the neonatology team and ancillary services to coordinate care
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic (typical caseload: 10–12 patients per APP per day)

Schedule and setting

• Inpatient practice in a Level III NICU at a Level I Trauma Center
• Shifts:
  • Day: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • Night: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Weekend coverage required; no on-call responsibilities
• EMR: Epic

What we’re looking for

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Active Michigan NP license required
• Recent neonatal experience in a high-acuity setting is required
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Experience in a Level II, III, or IV NICU preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and neonatal critical care skills
