Join a high-performing orthopedic trauma team at a busy Level II Trauma Center in Beaumont, Texas—about an hour east of Houston. We seek an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support orthopedic trauma surgeons in a high-acuity practice managing a wide range of injuries, from pelvic and acetabular fractures to common hand and pediatric fractures. The role offers a collaborative team environment, strong institutional support, and a predictable schedule with no after-hours call.
Position highlights
- Practice at a Level II Trauma Center with a high-volume orthopedic trauma service
- Clinical exposure to pelvis and acetabular trauma, general orthopedic trauma, hand injuries, and routine pediatric fractures
- APP coverage on-site daily from 7:00 AM–5:00 PM; 10-hour shifts
- Full-time schedule: 175 shifts per year
- No after-hours call; collaborative surgical and inpatient care environment
Core responsibilities
- Round with the on-call orthopedic trauma surgeon and participate in daily patient management
- Evaluate and manage new consults and inpatient orthopedic patients
- Assist in the operating room and support perioperative care
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and other services
Compensation & benefits
- Annual base compensation: $140,000
- Additional shifts: $800 per shift
- Full benefits package including health insurance, 401(k), and annual CME stipend
- Medical malpractice insurance with tail coverage provided
- Reasonable travel expenses to Beaumont and lodging covered
Qualifications
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Orthopedic or surgical experience preferred; trauma experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable assisting in the OR and managing inpatient orthopedic cases
- Strong teamwork, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
