Locum Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon — Arizona (Phoenix, Mesa, Glendale, Tucson)

A physician-led organization in Arizona seeks a fellowship-trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon for locum coverage at high-acuity, hospital-based trauma centers. The group provides robust clinical infrastructure and dedicated support so surgeons can focus on delivering high-quality care within collaborative, multidisciplinary teams.

Locations

• Phoenix, Mesa, Glendale, and Tucson, AZ

Assignment details

• 24-hour shifts with blocked scheduling (7-day stretches; flexible options available)
• Built-in recovery time between rotations
• Combined responsibilities: OR, inpatient management, and follow-up clinic
• Shared coverage alongside an additional Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon
• Dedicated orthopedic trauma and acute care surgery coverage model

Clinical responsibilities

• Operative and non-operative management of orthopedic trauma patients
• Participate in trauma call at a high-volume center
• Manage complex fracture care, including pelvic and acetabular injuries
• Collaborate with trauma surgery, ICU, and emergency medicine teams
• Balance surgical cases with inpatient care and outpatient follow-up
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Completion of an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship
• Experience in high-acuity trauma care required
• Strong expertise in pelvic and acetabular fracture management preferred
• Active Arizona medical license or willingness to obtain
