Locums Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon — Tucson, AZ

Join a physician-led team in Tucson, AZ, providing locum coverage at a high-acuity, hospital-based trauma center. This group builds strong clinical infrastructure so surgeons can focus on excellent patient care, working alongside an experienced orthopedic trauma team in a collaborative, well-supported setting.

What the assignment looks like

• 24-hour shifts, about 183 shifts per year (scheduling flexibility available)
• Blocked scheduling with 7-day stretches and built-in recovery time between rotations
• A balanced mix of OR time, inpatient management, and follow-up clinic
• Shared coverage with another Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon
• Dedicated orthopedic trauma and acute care surgery coverage model

Clinical responsibilities

• Manage operative and non-operative care for orthopedic trauma patients
• Participate in trauma call at a high-volume trauma center
• Treat complex fractures, including pelvic and acetabular injuries
• Collaborate closely with trauma surgery, ICU, and emergency medicine teams
• Balance surgical cases with inpatient care and outpatient follow-up
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Completion of an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship
• Experience in high-acuity trauma care required
• Strong expertise in pelvic and acetabular fracture management preferred
• Active Arizona medical license, or willingness to obtain one
