Locums Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon — Phoenix, AZ | High-Acuity Center, Above-Market Pay

A physician-led organization in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeon for locum coverage at a high-acuity, hospital-based trauma center. The group provides strong clinical infrastructure and dedicated support so surgeons can focus on delivering high-quality care within a collaborative orthopedic trauma team.

Assignment details

• 24-hour shifts, approximately 183 shifts annually (flexible scheduling available)
• Blocked scheduling with 7-day rotations and built-in recovery time between assignments
• Blend of OR, inpatient management, and follow-up clinic duties
• Work alongside another orthopedic trauma surgeon within a dedicated orthopedic trauma/acute care coverage model

Clinical responsibilities

• Manage operative and non-operative care of orthopedic trauma patients
• Participate in trauma call at a high-volume center
• Care for complex fractures, including pelvic and acetabular injuries
• Coordinate care with trauma surgery, ICU, and emergency medicine teams
• Balance surgical caseload with inpatient management and outpatient follow-up
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Completion of an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship
• Experience in high-acuity trauma care required; pelvic and acetabular expertise preferred
• Active Arizona medical license or willingness to obtain one
