Locum Tenens Inpatient Cardiology APP (NP/PA) — Asheville, NC

We’re looking for an experienced locum cardiology advanced practice provider to join an inpatient hospital team in Asheville. This role is a great fit for an NP or PA who’s comfortable managing step-down and cardiology unit patients and who enjoys working closely with cardiologists, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams.

Schedule & Setting

• 12-hour day shifts, primarily daytime coverage
• Coverage needed 7 days per week
• Hospital-based inpatient cardiology service
• EMR: Cerner

What you’ll do

• Round daily on patients admitted to or seen in consultation on the general cardiology service
• Manage primarily step-down and cardiology unit patients
• Perform documentation including daily progress notes, event notes, admission H&Ps, new consult notes, and discharge summaries
• Order medications, diagnostic tests, and procedures as appropriate
• Conduct new patient consults in collaboration with attending physicians
• Perform bedside ICU procedures when needed (arterial line placement, central line placement, cardioversion)
• Collaborate with cardiologists, nursing staff, and other care team members to deliver high-quality patient care

What we’re looking for

• Experienced Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Active North Carolina license required
• Active North Carolina DEA required
• Strong inpatient cardiology experience preferred
• Comfortable performing bedside ICU procedures
