Primary Care Medical Director (Physician) — Amherst/Northampton, MA (70% Clinical / 30% Admin)

We are seeking an experienced Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and operational oversight for our primary care practices in Northampton and Amherst, MA. This role blends patient care (70% clinical) with administrative leadership (30%) to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered services, support provider development, and advance practice transformation.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead clinical standards, quality improvement, and patient safety programs
• Mentor, evaluate, and support providers; foster professional development
• Ensure regulatory compliance and oversee risk management and service recovery
• Optimize workflows, staffing, and care delivery models for efficiency and access
• Drive population health, value-based care, and payer-facing initiatives
• Use EHR data and analytics to improve outcomes and operational performance
• Enhance patient experience and implement service recovery strategies

Compensation & benefits:

• Salary $250,000–$300,000 plus bonuses

Requirements:

• MD or DO with active Massachusetts license or willingness to obtain one
• Board certified or eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
• 2–5 years of outpatient primary care experience
• Demonstrated clinical leadership and strong communication skills
• Prior Medical Director or lead physician experience preferred
• Experience with population health, payer programs, or practice transformation
• Training in leadership, quality improvement, or informatics is a plus
