Job Description

We are seeking an experienced physician leader to provide clinical oversight across our primary care practices in Northampton and Amherst, MA. This role combines active clinical practice (70%) with administrative leadership (30%) to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care, support providers, optimize operations, and advance continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership for standards, quality, and patient safety across sites
  • Mentor, evaluate, and support provider performance and professional development
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and oversee risk management and service recovery
  • Streamline workflows, staffing models, and care delivery to improve efficiency
  • Lead population health, value-based care, and payer-program initiatives
  • Use EHRs and data analytics to monitor outcomes and drive improvement
  • Enhance patient experience and coordinate service recovery efforts

Compensation & benefits

  • Salary: $250,000–$300,000 (commensurate with experience)

Qualifications

  • MD or DO with an active Massachusetts medical license or willingness to obtain one
  • Board certified or eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • 2–5 years of outpatient primary care experience
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership, strong communication, and mentorship skills
  • Prior experience as a Medical Director or lead physician preferred
  • Experience with population health, payer programs, or practice transformation
  • Training or experience in leadership, quality improvement, or informatics
