Locum Telehealth Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) — Clinic Lead, Brooklyn/NY (Adult/Geriatric)

We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide telehealth behavioral health services across New York, serving adult and geriatric populations. This locum position combines psychiatric assessment, medication management, brief psychotherapy, and clinical consultation while offering leadership and collaboration with primary care and interdisciplinary teams. Compensation: $80–$90 per hour

Position details

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Setting: Telehealth (onsite availability required for select cases)
• Patient population: Adults and geriatrics
• Bilingual skills: Preferred but not required

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide medication management, recommend adjustments per evidence-based guidelines, and monitor effectiveness and safety.
• Deliver psychopharmacology, brief psychotherapy, cognitive/behavioral interventions, psychoeducation, advocacy, and emotional support.
• Offer behavioral health consultation to care managers, primary care providers, and interdisciplinary teams, including telephone support for urgent or complex cases.
• Coordinate care with primary care and community providers; communicate treatment plans and support integrated care.
• Educate and provide in-service training to primary care staff on behavioral health conditions and treatment approaches.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary care planning to promote integrated behavioral and primary care services.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and adhere to clinical, ethical, legal, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited NP program with graduate-level specialization in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.
• Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
• Active, unrestricted New York RN and NP licenses.
• Current DEA registration and New York prescribing privileges.
• Minimum of 1 year of NP experience preferred; psychiatric prescribing experience and experience with geriatric patients are a plus.
