• 49-hour shift -- 8 am day one through 9 am two days later
• Works alongside neonatologists 8 am - 3 or 4 pm; independent after hours
• Average census of 13 patients; up to 17 - 18
• Mix of feeder-growers and higher acuity patients -- down to 23 weeks
• Inpatient hospital setting
• Intubation, chest tube, umbilical venous line, and arterial line placement
• High-risk delivery attendance required
• Ground transport duties preferred -- no air transport
