This is a unique opportunity to join a highly respected ENT practice while helping address a significant community need created by a shortage of endocrinologists in the region.
The position combines an outpatient-focused clinical practice with meaningful academic involvement through the Graduate Medical Education (GME) Internal Medicine Residency Program, offering physicians the opportunity to teach, mentor residents, and help develop endocrine education.

- Opportunity to help develop endocrinology curriculum and resident rotations

Practice Details
This is a growth position created to address the increasing demand for endocrine care throughout Southwest Florida. Local endocrinologists have transitioned to concierge practices or closed insurance panels, creating significant patient access delays. As a result, ENT surgeons are currently managing many thyroid-related medical conditions while patients wait for specialty care.
The incoming physician will focus primarily on:
- Thyroid disorders
- Parathyroid disorders
The practice is intentionally designed around thyroid disease management. Routine management of diabetes, pituitary disorders, adrenal disorders, osteoporosis, obesity medicine, and reproductive endocrinology is not expected.
Clinical responsibilities include:
- Outpatient evaluation and management of thyroid and parathyroid disorders
- Collaboration with five experienced ENT surgeons
- Coordination of care with an established healthcare system referral network
- Clinical teaching of Internal Medicine residents
- Assistance with endocrine rotation development and curriculum planning
An experienced nurse practitioner currently performs thyroid biopsies using onsite ultrasound equipment.
Practice Environment
- Independent private practice partnered with Physicians Regional Medical Center
- Four clinic locations within 5–10 miles of one another
- Dedicated medical assistant and nursing support
- AI-assisted documentation through the EMMA electronic medical record
- Opportunity to add advanced practice provider support as patient volume grows
- Immediate access to an established referral base
Patient volume will grow quickly based on physician preference and scheduling pace due to the substantial unmet demand in the community.
Call
- Light, phone-only call
- Physicians cover after-hours calls for their own patients
- Average after-hours call frequency is approximately once every 60 days
