What to expect

• Shifts: 12-hour shifts with both day and night coverage required
• Patient volume: About 54,000 ED visits per year
• ED setup: 28 bays in a Level III Trauma Center
• Admission rate: Roughly 15%
• Patient mix: Typical community / sole-community-hospital population
• Triage and support: Nurse/APP triage for lower-acuity patients and standard ED clinical support staff available

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care for patients across all acuity levels
• Evaluate, diagnose, stabilize, and treat medical and traumatic emergencies appropriate to a Level III trauma center
• Perform emergency procedures and clinical interventions as needed
• Work collaboratively with nurses, APPs, and the broader ED team
• Make appropriate decisions to admit, transfer, or discharge patients
• Complete timely, accurate documentation of patient care

Requirements

• Board Certification in Emergency Medicine — REQUIRED
• New graduates are welcome if EM Board-Certified
• Active Georgia medical license
