Locums Cardiothoracic Surgeon — Urgent 24/7 Call in Steubenville, OH (Sept 5–14)

Location: Steubenville, OH
Urgent coverage dates: September 5, 7:00 AM – September 14, 7:00 AM
Setting: Inpatient and clinic
EMR: Meditech

Schedule

• Weekdays: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Weekday night call: 5:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Weekend call: Saturday & Sunday, 24-hour (7:00 AM–7:00 AM)
• Overall: 24/7 call coverage required

Clinical duties

• Provide comprehensive inpatient and clinic cardiothoracic surgical care.
• Round on CT surgery inpatients (average census 4–6).
• Provide limited outpatient clinic coverage (average 10–12 patients/day).
• Provide continuous call coverage for emergent cardiovascular and thoracic cases; emergent procedures expected to be performed onsite.
• Evaluate and manage patients requiring urgent surgical intervention.
• Perform CABG and thoracic surgical procedures (approx. 1–2 CABG/week; 5–7 other surgical cases/week).
• Manage vascular cases when within scope/experience (vascular experience a plus).
• Collaborate with hospital staff and other providers to ensure timely, high-quality care.

Requirements

• Board eligibility required; board certification highly preferred
• Active Ohio medical license (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• Demonstrated experience with CABG and thoracic surgery

No patient transfers for emergent procedures unless clinically necessary.
