The Role:
• Location: Eureka, CA
• Specialty: Neurological Surgery (Neurosurgery)
• Assignment Type: Per Diem
• Specific Dates Needed: 11/21/2026 - 12/09/2026 and 12/27/2026 - 01/06/2027 (additional single dates may apply)
• Guaranteed Hours per Day: 8
• Shift Type: Clinic and Call
• Call Type: Weeknight beeper and 24-hour weekend beeper call
• Shift Times: Clinic 8:30am-5:00pm (daytime clinic and call responsibility included in regular rate); Night call 5:00pm-8:30am next day (billed at night call rate); Weekends: 24-hour call coverage
• Patient Encounters Per Shift: ~5
• License: Active state medical license required
• DEA: Required
• Board: Board Certified preferred; Board Eligible within 3-5 years of residency may be considered, but BC is preferred
• Privileging Requirements: Providers must submit 100 cases within the past 24 months specific to requested privileges; current case logs and full hospital affiliations required at presentation
• Certifications/Skills: FLURO certification required (temporary FLURO accepted); will see complex spine cases including spinal surgery with instrumentation (cervical, thoracic, lumbar); placement of ICP monitors required; VP shunt experience preferred
• Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 90 days
• Other: Gaps >3 months must be explained; minimum 2 years of current hospital clinical activity in specialty expected for hospital-based specialties
