Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our established Level II NICU at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. This unique opportunity offers a 10-day-per-month schedule with a 24-hour out-of-house call model, allowing providers to live where they choose and commute in for scheduled coverage.

Flexible Lifestyle and Scheduling

  • 24-hour out-of-house schedule model, working approximately 10 scheduled days per month
  • Live anywhere and commute to Garden City
  • On-site housing, travel, and transportation provided
  • Block scheduling available 

Autonomous Practice with Support

  • Small, community-based hospital with a 6-bed NICU
  • Average daily census: 3-4 patients
  • Practitioner driven with a high level of clinical autonomy 
  • Seasoned NNP team built on collaboration and communication 
  • Neonatologist support and rounding provided via telemedicine

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Manage neonatal patients in a Level II NICU 
  • Attend C-sections
  • Perform neonatal consults and circumcisions
  • Manage transfer-ins and coordinate transfers when higher levels of care are needed
  • Work closely with pediatricians who provide well-baby care

  • Must be board-certified as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner 
  • 3-5 minimum years of experience required. 
    • Comfortable practicing independently in a Level II NICU
    • Skilled in neonatal assessment, easily able to identify well-newborn transition or provide escalated care
    • Experienced with patient stabilization and transfer coordination
    • Confident collaborating through telemedicine with neonatologists
    • Flexible and adaptable in a community-based practice environment
    • Highly collaborative and an effective communicator
