Physician Subject Matter Expert, MD/DO

Gigstart is hiring practicing physicians as subject matter experts for a healthcare technology client. You will evaluate clinical workflows in a simulated EHR environment and document where the environment differs from real-world practice. This is a remote, part-time, contract engagement. No patient care and no protected health information are involved.

 

• Complete assigned clinical workflows in a simulated EHR environment: notes, order entry, results review, medication management, chart review, handoffs, and discharge
• Identify steps that fail, behave differently from the production system, or are missing
• Document findings in structured forms and short written notes
• Attend a remote onboarding session and periodic check-ins

Qualifications:

• MD or DO, currently practicing or left practice within the past two years
• 5+ years post-training
• 3+ years of daily, hands-on use of at least one of: Epic (inpatient or outpatient), Epic Hyperspace, Oracle Cerner (Millennium / PowerChart), MEDITECH Expanse, athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, MDLand iClinic
• Internal medicine, hospital medicine, emergency medicine, OB/GYN, and pathology are of particular interest
• Clear written communication

 

• Location: Remote, United States
• Type: 1099 independent contractor
• Hours: approximately 10 per week during active weeks, self-scheduled
• Duration: approximately 4 weeks of work over 5 to 6 calendar weeks, with alternating active and inactive weeks; extension possible based on performance
• Start: week of September 14, 2026
• Equipment: your own computer and internet connection; browser-based, nothing to install 

 

Compensation

• $210 to $360 per hour, determined by experience and assigned system. Confirmed during screening.
