Trauma-Focused Neurosurgeon — ACS Level II Trauma Center, No Electives, Strong APP Support

Join an established neurosurgical program in Rapid City, SD, providing acute care neurosurgery and trauma services at an ACS-verified Level II Trauma Center. This role is exclusively trauma/acute care-focused with no elective procedures and requires rapid decision-making in a high-acuity environment.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation, diagnosis, operative management, and postoperative care for traumatic neurosurgical injuries in emergency and inpatient settings
• Respond rapidly to trauma activations and manage high-acuity patients
• Coordinate care with Trauma, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, and other multidisciplinary teams
• Supervise and collaborate with APPs in clinical care and follow-up clinics
• Develop and follow standardized clinical protocols
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery
• Fellowship training in trauma or equivalent trauma experience required
• Eligible for or holding an unrestricted South Dakota medical license
• ATLS certification preferred
• Demonstrated ability to perform in fast-paced, high-acuity settings
• Strong communication and leadership skills
