Locums Emergency Medicine Physician (Benton, MO) — Flexible PRN Days/Nights/Weekends

Are you an experienced emergency clinician looking for flexible locum work in Benton, Missouri? We’re seeking a physician to provide Emergency Department coverage. This role suits board-certified Emergency Medicine physicians or board-certified Family Medicine/Internal Medicine physicians with at least three years of ED experience. Shifts include days, nights, and weekends, so flexibility is essential.

What you’ll see and do

• Manage a busy ED averaging about 81 patients per day, with roughly 12% admission rate.
• Treat a higher volume of lower-acuity (Level 4–5) patients while also caring for critically ill patients who require advanced interventions.
• Perform standard emergency procedures such as intubation, central line placement, and other ICU-level stabilizations.
• Coordinate care for patients who may need ICU admission.

Scheduling

• Flexible PRN scheduling with scattered 10- and 12-hour shifts.
• No on-call responsibilities.

Support and resources

• On-site ICU for higher-acuity patients.
• Access to neurology and psychiatric consults as needed.
• Note: the facility does not have dedicated pediatric services, plastics, neuro-interventional radiology, a cardiac cath lab, or obstetrics.

Minimum requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, OR Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine with 3+ years of Emergency Medicine experience.
• Active Missouri medical license.
• Current ATLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
