Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician — Winter Haven, FL

Join a locums team providing emergency care at a freestanding emergency center fully integrated with a nearby hospital campus in Winter Haven, Florida. This role offers access to comprehensive inpatient and specialty support, with streamlined transfers and coordinated handoffs to intensivists, hospitalists, and specialists.

Position highlights

• Flexible scheduling required: days, nights, and weekends
• Preference for physicians willing to cover both the main hospital and affiliated freestanding EDs
• Main hospital shifts: may consider shorter than 12 hours
• Freestanding ED shifts: 12-hour shifts required
• Projected annual ED volume: ~19,000 visits (≈52 patients per day)
• Facility features: 12 private patient care beds, dedicated trauma room, dedicated pediatric treatment room

Clinical environment

• Fully integrated with the hospital campus, enabling access to comprehensive specialty and inpatient services
• Patients needing admission are transferred to the main campus or another affiliated facility with seamless clinical handoff

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM), OR
• Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine with a minimum of 3 years’ Emergency Medicine experience
• Current Florida medical license
• ACLS and PALS certifications required
