Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician | Alaska
Practice Overview

Practice Overview
- Join an established OB/GYN team with three OB/GYN physicians and 3 certified nurse-midwives
- Provide a broad mix of obstetrics and gynecology, including prenatal care, high-risk pregnancy consultation, deliveries, C-sections, OB emergencies, and postpartum care
- Participate in a low-volume, community-based birthing program with approximately 125–130 births annually, rather than a high-volume tertiary OB environment
- Practice at a 24/7 Birthing Center with three birthing-center beds and private labor-delivery-recovery suites
- Manage routine and higher-risk obstetric care, including twin pregnancies, breech presentations, complicated pregnancies, ECVs, C-sections, and OB emergencies
- Maintain a comprehensive gynecology practice including preventive care, contraception, abnormal bleeding, menopause management, family planning, and fertility/hormonal counseling
- Perform gynecologic procedures including colposcopy, LEEP, endometrial ablation, minimally invasive hysterectomy, urinary incontinence procedures, pelvic organ prolapse treatment, pessary fitting, and PTNS
- Perform scheduled and emergency C-sections in the hospital's on-site operating rooms, with anesthesia and surgical teams available around the clock
- Collaborate with anesthesia, pediatrics, nursing, and respiratory therapy for obstetric and newborn care
- Provide care within a community hospital model that allows physicians to maintain a broad clinical skill set while avoiding the delivery volume of a large metropolitan or tertiary center
- Participate in a practice model emphasizing physician involvement, midwife collaboration, surgical care, and community-based medicine
- Recommended 75th-percentile compensation: $509,340
- Hospital-employed position
- Comprehensive benefits package
- Retirement benefits
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Paid time off
- CME allowance and CME time
- Professional liability coverage

- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Alaska
- Ability to provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care
- Comfortable managing routine and higher-risk obstetric patients
- Ability to perform C-sections and other appropriate obstetric procedures
- Live on the Kenai Peninsula surrounded by mountains, beaches, glaciers, forests, and Kachemak Bay
- Enjoy world-class fishing, including halibut and salmon, along with boating, kayaking, hiking, camping, and wildlife viewing
- Known for its mountains, glaciers, coastline, and extensive outdoor recreation
- Experience abundant wildlife, including bald eagles, sea otters, bears, moose, whales, and other marine and land wildlife
- Home to a vibrant arts and cultural community with galleries, local shops, restaurants, festivals, and community events
- Miles of waterfront access with restaurants, shops, and spectacular views
- Enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle with opportunities for hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, kayaking, boating, and photography
- Experience Alaska's long summer days and spectacular northern landscapes while living in a close-knit coastal community
