Job Description
St. Mary's Health Care System in partnership with Lifepoint Rehabilitation is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician to serve as Medical Director of its 19-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit in beautiful Athens, Georgia. This is an outstanding opportunity to lead a well-established rehabilitation program while maintaining a clinical practice in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.
As Medical Director, you will provide leadership and oversight for the inpatient rehabilitation program, working closely with an interdisciplinary team committed to helping patients regain function, independence, and quality of life following injury, illness, or surgery.
Position HighlightsInpatient-focused PM&R practice
Leadership opportunity with dedicated administrative support
Collaborative interdisciplinary team including rehabilitation nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, case management, and hospital leadership
Flexible practice structure
The St. Mary's Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit provides comprehensive rehabilitation services for patients recovering from:
Stroke and neurological disorders
Brain injury
Spinal cord injury
Orthopedic conditions and joint replacement recovery
Debility and complex medical conditions
Amputation and mobility impairments
The unit focuses on intensive, individualized rehabilitation programs designed to maximize functional outcomes and facilitate successful transitions back to home and community settings.
QualificationsMD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Georgia.
Demonstrated commitment to high-quality inpatient rehabilitation care.
Prior leadership or medical directorship experience preferred, but not required.
Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
